A team composed of 24 players from 15 clubs (6 Div II and 9 Div I) helped defeat Southern California 37- 26 in their first match on Friday. Northeast lost to Mid-Atlantic 12-31 on Saturday.
Fairfield Fly half Brad Troup guided a very skilled backline to a come from behind victory over SoCal. Centers Jeff Reiman of Harvard, Tom Burns of Siena and fullback Epeli Rokotuiveikau of Middlebury were outstanding. The team was captained by Matt Piccirrillo of U Conn and Kevin Immonje of Middlebury. Very strong performances were put in by second row Jeff Berger of RPI and eightman Mike Linshitz of Dartmouth.
Mike celebrated a proxy college graduation with parents coaches and friends on the sideline immediately following the second game.
