Teams Will Compete at Potomac Challenge Cup June 18-19
The New York State Rugby Conference announced player pools for the Under 19 (1992 & 1993) replica watches and Under 17 (1994 & Younger) teams that will compete in the Potomac Challenge Cup at Founder's Field in Pittsburgh, PA on June 18 & 19.
In addition to the Challenge Cup, the Beavers will take on a Capitol District select side in Syracuse on June 12.
Last season the Under 19 team made it to the semifinals before a speedy Carolina team took them down. The 3rd/4th place match was rained out, and Met NY eventually beat Carolina in the finals. Several players off that team went on to contribute to the success of their college teams, wholesale jewelry most notably Tyler Norris (Fairport) who started for national quarterfinalist University at Buffalo. Tom Tyler (Canandaigua/St. Bonaventure) was named team MVP and returns to the player pool.
In the Under 17 bracket, NYS proved to be one of the top two teams. In a hotly contested semifinal, the Beavers fell to Eastern Penn in extra time after a lose ball bounced the Pennsylvanians way. Both teams went on to dominate their opponents in the finals rolex replica watches and 3rd/4th place match, respectively. Evan Meister (Orchard Park) was named team MVP and has moved on to the U19 player pool, along with several key players from last year's team.
After a pair of assemblies over the next two weeks, the final roster will be selected for this June's matches.
