Player Camp Registration Hits Capacity, Registration Closed
NYS Rugby announced this morning that registration for the 2011 Player Development Camp, scheduled for March 5-6 at Ralph Wilson Field House, has met capacity and the registration period is now closed.
This is the sixth consecutive year that registration has been at full capacity. More than 150 U19 Rugby athletes will attend this year's camp.
"This demonstrates the continued growth of Rugby in New York State," said Mike Hodgins, NYS Rugby President. "We are planning another exciting and meaningful camp and promise the athletes will gain valuable experience."
Lead Instructor
Eddie O'Sullivan, head coach of the U.S. National Team, will serve as the lead instructor at this year's camp. O'Sullivan was Ireland's most succesful coach of the modern era, leading the Irish National Team to three Triple Crowns and rising to as high as third in the World Rankings. He joined the U.S. National Team following the 2008-09 season.
Coaching Development
Coaches are also welcome to take part in the session, working alongside Eddie O'Sullivan and learning techniques and strategies used with our National Team programs. This camp is offered as part of NYS Rugby's Game Development Series - each participating coach can receive 5 CEU credits toward their ongoing USA Rugby certification requirements (the maximum available), and can extend their certification by attending two of the Game Development Series events.
