Rugby NY Announces 2011 NYS High School Rugby Championships

Albany, NY, January 17, 2011 - Teams from across New York will meet May 29-30 2011 to compete for Rugby NY’s Boys & Girls New York State High School Championships. The competition will bring together the top teams from the Upstate (NYSRC), Downstate (Met NY), Eastern (Capital) and Northern (North Country) leagues to decide who reigns supreme in NYS.

Boys Championships
Boys teams will be split into two pools of three (3) teams each for round robin play on Sunday, May 29th. Pool winners will play for the Cup Championship with second and third place pool finishers competing for the Plate and Bowl respectively on Monday, May 30th. All teams will play a total of three games.

North Country #1
Met NY #2

Girls Championships
The top team from each of the four regions in NYS will qualify for the 2011 Girls NYS Championships. Semifinal matches will be played on Sunday, May 29th with the championship and consolation matches on Monday, May 30th. Each team will play two matches.

Semifinal #1: (1) NYSRC #1 vs. (4) Met NY #1
Semifinal #2: (2) Capital #1 vs. (3) North Country #1
