Premier Youth Program Looking for New Leader
Fairport Girls Rugby Seeks Coach
The Fairport Rugby Club is looking for a Head Coach for their Girls Team. The coach is compensated for her/ his time. The Team is a community sport that is not affiliated with the Fairport schools or athletic director.
The Team has an established Booster Club that handles socials, field set up, fundraising and travel accommodations for the Team. Last year's team consisted of 30 experienced players (the majority of which will be seniors in 2010-2011). The Team has two assistant coaches- An assistant Back's coach (Reggie Tift) and an assistant Forwards coach (Michelle Evans) - both of whom would like to stay with the Club and have been with the club over 4 years. However, assistant coaching positions are at the discretion of the Head Coach. The season runs from March through May.
Head Coach Responsibilities include:
-at least 3 days of practice a week (Practice hours/ days are flexible)
-games on Saturday or Sunday (Schedule is published by NYS Rugby in January. Some games are located in Buffalo and some at Fairport)
-practice plans
-review of game tapes
-Fairport Rugby Board Member (two meetings annually)
-having fun with the team!
