Join the Colonials for the Premier of INVICTUS

Rochester (December 3, 2009) -— The Rochester Colonials Rugby Club proudly invites all rugby players, rugby fans, friends and families to the opening night premier of INVICTUS, starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon.

Centered around the election of Nelson Mandela as President of South Africa and South Africa's inspirational victory in the Rugby World Cup, INVICTUS is poised to help get the word out about rugby, its strong community atmosphere, and the game we love, all within the larger context of human rights and the end of Apartheid.

Join the Colonials at REGAL CINEMAS HENRIETTA on Friday, December 11, beginning at 6:30pm and continuing throughout the 7:00pm and 10:00pm showings of INVICTUS!

The Colonials will have a display set up in the theatre lobby, complete with information about the sport of rugby, rugby memorabilia, and first-hand knowledge about rugby in South Africa! The Colonials will be available to answer questions, have a presence in the community, and help support grassroots, youth, and Colonials rugby! This is a great opportunity to promote our great sport!

Tickets can be purchased by calling the theatre box office at (585) 424-5461. You can also purchase tickets at http://www.fandango.com

The Rochester Colonials are committed to developing the sport of rugby through community relations, hosting highprofile and professionally-run events, and providing athletes with opportunities for competitive rugby. As Sean Borromei, club president, states: “Hosting events like these gives the Colonials huge opportunities to develop our sport in the community and also gives the Colonials a chance to give back to the community that has done so much for us.”

Borromei also hopes that the statewide rugby community will provide their full support for this event. “This film is such a powerful portrayal of rugby world-wide; our goal is to invite more people into that global family.”
