SUNY Cortland Men Seek Coach

SUNY Cortland Men's Rugby Club is looking for qualified and knowledgeable applicants for the position of Head Coach, starting in the fall of 2010.

Applicants must possess current USARFU certification or be willing to earn this certification prior to appointment. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification is preferred. During the fall, candidates for this position must be available Monday through Friday in the late afternoon for all club practices (typically between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. depending on field availability) and on Saturday or Sunday for scheduled league games.

During the spring, candidates must be available for 2-3 practices during the week and on several weekends for traveling to tournaments across the state. Playing experience is required; previous coaching experience is strongly preferred.

Applicants must be dedicated to attending practices/games to assist with the growth and development of the SUNY Cortland Men's Rugby Club. If possible, the club would prefer to begin working with the coach during the upcoming spring tournament season. This position reports directly to the Director of Recreational Sports.

The Men's Rugby Club is a part of the SUNY Cortland Sport Club Program in the Recreational Sports Department and has had a long-standing tradition of success at SUNY Cortland dating back to 1970. The club includes approximately 40 active members per season and offers a great atmosphere to play and work in. In the fall of 2010, SUNY Cortland Men's Rugby will participate in Division II West of the New York State Rugby Conference. The team will be returning many starters in the fall and is seeking to improve on last season's performance. The team is prepared to learn and improve their rugby skills under the supervision of a qualified head coach.

Interested candidates should submit an application online at Jobs.Cortland.edu. Applications should include a current resume, cover letter, and contact information for 3 personal references. Salary for this position will be between $1000.00 and $3000.00 depending on experience. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. SUNY Cortland is an AA/#EEO/ADA employer.
