2008 NYS Rugby AGM Review

NYS Rugby held its 2008 Annual General Meeting on Saturday, November 15, in Syracuse, NY. The meeting provides membership a chance to interact with the Executive Board, review the previous years' accomplishments, a budget review of 2008 and a vote on the 2009 budget, discussion and vote on proposed bylaw ammendments and elections for the 2009 Executive Committee.

The membership voted to approve a new board seat with full voting priveledges - VP of Referees & Officiating. This position will be filled by the elected Chair of the New York Rugby Referees Society (NYSRRS).

In addition, the membership voted to approve an amendment to NYS Rugby bylaws which will require the NYSRRS (via VP Referees & Officiating) to provide detailed documentation, in writing, of its budget and expenditures. This documentation will be submitted to the NYS Rugby Treasurer on an annual basis.

NYS Rugby would like to recognize Joe Kirsch, out-going Vice President of Youth, for his dedicated service to the organization.

The following board members were elected to a one-year term, set to expire at the 2009 AGM:
President - Mike Hodgins (Batavia, NY)
VP Senior Men - Sean Borromei (Rochester, NY)
VP Collegiate Men - Andy McDonnell (Albany, NY)
VP Women - Kristin Huber (Buffalo, NY)
VP Youth - Fred Bressette (Buffalo, NY)
VP At Large - Greg Fehrman (Syracuse, NY)
Secretary - Annemarie Farrell (Ithaca, NY)
Treasurer - Tom Rienzo (Troy, NY)
