2008 NYS Rugby Annual General Meeting
To all NYS Rugby member clubs -
The 2008 NYS Rugby Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Doubletree Hotel (Carrier Circle). The meeting will begin promptly at 12:00 p.m.
Each member club is strongly encouraged to have at least one (1) representative in attendance.
The Doubletree is located just off of the NYS Thurway (Exit 35) at 6301 State Route 298, East Syracuse, NY. Maps and directions to the Doubletree can be found by Clicking Here.
The Executive Board is asking the membership to approve an amendment to the NYS Rugby Bylaws for the creation of a new voting board seat - Vice President for Referees & Officiating. This position will oversee and be responsible for the following:
* Represent the constituency of Referees & Officials within NYS Rugby
* Serve as a liaison between Referees and member clubs
* Assign referees to as many league games as possible, based on the number of referees available
* Facilitate training of new referees and coordinate evaluation, upgrading and currency requirements of referees
* Coordinate with, and report to, appropriate officials at the NRU and USA Rugby levels
In an effort to promote interest in serving on the Executive Board and in the interest of having a competitive election process, the full slate of board positions are listed below. Anyone who is a member of a NYS club, in good standing, is eligible for board service. They must be nominated and seconded from the floor at the AGM.

PRESIDENT
The President shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Conference. The President shall have the general charge of the business, affairs, and property of the Conference. The President shall preside at meetings of the members, of the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee and may sign all contracts or instruments authorized by the Board of Directors or the Executive Committee.
Mike Hodgins, of Batavia, NY, is the incumbent and will be seeking another term.
VICE PRESIDENTS
Each Vice President shall represent the demographic constituency for which the Vice President is elected. The primary responsibility of the VP's is to be the liaison between their constituency and the NYSRC Board and participate in all regular board business and activities. In addition they assist in the development of schedules and the competitive league structure.
VP Referees & Officiating - Open Position
VP Senior Men - Sean Borromei, of Rochester, NY, is the incumbent and will be seeking another term.
VP Collegiate Men - Open Position
VP Women - Kristin Huber, of Buffalo, NY, is the incumbent and will be seeking another term.
VP Youth - Open Position
VP At Large - Greg Fehrman, of Syracuse, NY, is the incumbent and will be seeking another term.
SECRETARY
The Secretary shall: Have custody of the records and documents of the Conference, have custody of the seal of the Conference and affix such seal to any contract or other instrument when so authorized or directed and keep all minutes of the meetings of the members, the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee.
Annemarie Farrell, of Ithaca, NY, is the incumbent and will be seeking another term.
TREASURER
The Treasurer shall have care and custody of the funds and securities and of the financial records of the Conference; deposit all monies received by him/her for the Conference in depositories as designated by the Board of Directors; have charge of the disbursement of the funds of the Conference, keep correct and complete records of account of the Conference, and render a report of the financial condition of the Conference to the Board of Directors when requested.
Tom Rienzo, of Troy, NY, is the incumbent and will be seeking another term.
