Regular Season Wraps up this Week for Some Divisions
NYS Rugby Clubs Begin Run to Playoffs

SYRACUSE, NY -- The playoff push is on for several clubs within New York State Rugby (NYS Rugby). Playoff berths in 11 divisions in men's club, and men's and women's collegiate play are up for grabs.
In men's club play, Syracuse leads the pack at 5-0, followed by Genesee and South Buffalo at 4-1. Cortland-Homer, Buffalo and Rochester are tied for the fourth and final playoff spot at 2-3. Genesee was a 21-5 winner over Buffalo this week, while South Buffalo turned back Rochester, 29-13. Syracuse and Genesee face off this weekend in Batavia, while South Buffalo takes on Cortland-Homer and Buffalo squares off with Rochester.
In Collegiate Men's Premier Division I play, Buffalo (4-0) remained perfect following a big win over cross-town rival Canisius. Syracuse (3-1) topped Binghamton to keep pace at a game back. Buffalo and Syracuse play a crucial game this weekend in Buffalo.
Collegiate Women's Division I finds traditional powers Buffalo and Cornell pacing the field at 3-0. Cornell was a 62-0 winner over Ithaca this past weekend.
Collegiate Men's Division II East is paced by Colgate, which stands a perfect 4-0 following its 36-8 win over RPI. Albany is 2-0-2, while Union fell to 2-1-1 after a 19-10 loss at Plattsburgh. Colgate looks to keep its unblemished record in-tact this weekend as it travels to Union.
In Men's Division II West action, St. Bonaventure improved to 5-0 with a resounding win over Rochester (2-2). Geneseo (3-1) takes on Buffalo State this weekend, while Fredonia and Rochester meet at U of R.
In Women's Division II East play, Siena is off to another 3-0 start, using a 45-0 shutout of visiting St. Lawrence. Colgate (2-0-1) was a 39-3 winner over Oneonta. With its loss, St. Lawrence dropped to 2-1-1 on the season.
Men's Division III East has a tie atop the standings, with Hamilton and Clarkson both 3-0. Hamilton topped Oneonta, 34-3, while Clarkson ran past Paul Smiths, 51-3. Hamilton is at Syracuse DIII this week, while Clarkson travels to nearby Potsdam. In Men's Division III West play, Niagara improved to 3-0 with a 33-0 blanking of Buffalo DIII. Oswego remained a game back in second by virtue of its 54-0 win over St. John Fisher.
In Collegiate Women's Division III action, Albany (2-0-1) is a half game ahead of Clarkson (2-0) in the East. Albany ran to a 34-10 win over Oswego this week, while Clarkson was idle. The schools square off this weekend at Clarkson.
In Women's Division III West, Canisius and Le Moyne played the game of the week. In a tightly-contested contest, Canisius got by Le Moyne, 22-19, to improve to 4-0. With the loss, Le Moyne fell to 3-1. Canisius is at St. John Fisher this week, while Le Moyne travels to William Smith.
