Coach-Referee Symposium at Rugby Development Weekend
Coach-Referee Symposium at Rugby Development Weekend - Feb 15, 2007
Join Us for what will prove to be a lively and informative session
Coach-Referee Symposium at Rugby Development Weekend
Join us for the kick-off event of NYS Rugby's Development Weekend.
John Williams, of the Welsh Rugby Union, and Kevin McCaslin, USA Rugby National Referee Manager, will lead a comprehensive presentation and discussion on the Coach-Referee Dynamic and how it pertains to the management of a game from both vantage points.
This special event, new to the weekend's lineup, will be held on Friday, March 2, at the RIT Inn & Conference Center. The presentation runs from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and will include opportunity for interactive discussion from all in attendance. Dinner will be available for purchase.
It is required for all interested to confirm attendance prior to the event. Please register with J.C. Whipple, NYS Rugby Executive Director, at jcwhip4@gmail.com prior to February 28.
Specific aspects of play will be reviewed through video analysis to
highlight Coaching technique vs. the Referee thought process and
the systematic process they go through to apply laws. For
example ball carrier, first arriving defender, first support player,
offside lines, ball release, tackled player, scrum, and lineout.
This will invariably help our referees and coaches to improve the
standard of Rugby in our area. Don't miss what is sure to be a lively, educational, and contentious presentation.
