NYS Rugby Announces Development Weekend - Mar. 2-4
March 2-4, 2007
Rochester Institute of Technology
Rochester, NY
Now in its third year, the NYS Rugby Development Weekend continues to be the perfect way for men's and women's collegiate and high school boys and girls, coaches and referees to jumpstart their 2007 spring seasons.
After enjoying outstanding success in 2005 and 2006, the Development Weekend will again feature a Player Development Camp, run by NYS Rugby, and a Coach Development Program, sponsored by USA Rugby.
New to the program this year will be a Referee Development Clinic. This event will incorporate classroom, tactical drills and live-action.
Participants in each phase of the weekend will benefit from outstanding coaches from around the world and New York State ñ perfect for both new and experienced collegiate and high school players, coaches and referee.
It is THE way to get ready for the upcoming season. Join us on March 2-4 in Rochester, NY - it is a weekend you don't want to miss!
Instructors
In addition to instructors from NYS Rugby, the program boasts the experience of top coaches from the Welsh Rugby Union and USA Rugby. Providing a most unique experience for high school and collegiate players will be lead instructors John Williams of the Welsh Rugby Union and George Betzler of USA Rugby. Williams, a WRU Level 4 coach, has served as head coach of the Wales Women's National Team and the Wales U19 team. Betzler is the former USA National Team coach and has served in many different roles with USA Rugby over the last 20 years. The Referee Clinic will feature the lead of Ed Todd, Referee Development Manager at USA Rugby. He will be assisted by Kevin McCaslin, a USA National Panel referee.
