SYRACUSE, NY -- NYS Rugby has announced the schedule for the 2006 NYS Rugby Collegiate Championships. The Championships will be held on Saturday, Oct. 28, at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY.

Championship brackets are as follows (including results from opening round play):


Menís College Playoffs

Division I (3 NRU Seeds)
Championship: #1 Buffalo v. #2 Cornell
Field 1 - 3:00 p.m.
Winner NYS #1 seed / Loser NYS #2 seed

Qualifier: #3 Cortland v. #4 Syracuse
Field 2 - 3:00 p.m.
Winner NYS #3 seed


Division II (2 NRU Seeds)
Game 1: Geneseo 66, Union 17
Game 2: Albany 41, Fredonia 35

Championship: Geneseo v. Albany
Field 2 - 1:00 p.m.
Winner NYS #1 seed

Qualifier: Fedonia v. Union
Field 3 - 1:00 p.m.
NYS #2 seed is awarded as follows:

Loser of Game 3 and Winner of Game 4 will both have 1-1 records in the playoffs. The tiebreak procedure will be:

1) Tied teams played each other in the playoffs, Winner claims #2 seed.

2) Tied teams did not play each in the playoffs, but played during the regular season, the winner of the regular season match claims the #2 seed.

3) Tied teams have not played each other, the seed will be determined by the lowest point differential vs. #1 seed during the playoffs.


Division III (1 NRU Seed)
Game 1: Niagara 39, St. Lawrence 10
Game 2: Hamilton 22, Paul Smiths 10

Championship: Niagara v. Hamilton
Field 1 - 11:00 a.m.
Winner NYS #1 seed


Womenís College Playoffs

Division I (2 NRU seeds)
Game 1: Cornell 52, Binghamton 10
Game 2: Buffalo 12, Syracuse 10

Championship: Cornell v. Buffalo
Field 1 - 1:00 p.m.
Winner NYS #1 seed / Loser NYS #2 seed


Division II (1 NRU Seed)
Semifinal 1: Geneseo (West #2) v. Siena (East #1)
Field 1 - 9:00 a.m.

Semifinal 2: Colgate (East #2) v. Brockport (West #1)
Field 2 - 9:00 a.m.

Championship: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2
11.4 @ Higher Seed
Winner NYS #1 seed


Division III (1 NRU Seed)
Game 1: St. Bonaventure 50, Oswego 0
Game 2: Hamilton 43, Canisius 5
