SYRACUSE, NY --
New York State Rugby (NYS Rugby) completed it first full week of play on Sunday, as 75 clubs are vying for playoff spots in 11 divisions in men's club, and men's and women's collegiate play.

In men's club play at the Division III level, the Syracuse Chargers have jumped out to set the paceyet again this season. Four-time defending champion Syracuse (2-0) has outscored its opponents by a 111-6 margin. South Buffalo is also off to a 2-0 start and looking forward to a showdown with Syracuse this Saturday in South Buffalo.

Collegiate Men's Premier Division I saw Binghamton, Buffalo, Cornell and D-I newcomer Cortland all jump out to 2-0 starts. Buffalo has shutout both its opponents this season, including a 39-0 win over Binghamton on Saturday. Cortland raced by RPI, 59-3, setting up an exciting match with UB this Saturday in Buffalo.

Collegiate Womenís Division I saw traditional powers Buffalo and Syracuse open the season with victories. UB blanked Binghamton, 49-0, while Syracuse topped Ithaca, 32-5.

Collegiate Men's Division II East is paced by Albany and Colgate. Albany outlasted Plattsburgh, 32-5, while Colgate defeated Siena by a 54-15 margin. In Men's Division II West action, Geneseo earned a nice win over Rochester, 29-5, to open its campaign, while Hobart hung on to top Buffalo State, 20-15.

In Women's Division II East play, Siena is off to a 2-0 start following its 30-10 win over Cogate on Saturday. Albany and St. Lawrence are both 1-0 on the campaign. In Women's DII West, Brockport shutout Buffalo State, 27-0, to run its record to 2-0 on the season.

Paul Smiths had a big win over St. Lawrence (41-5) on Saturday to open the season 1-0. Clarkson joins Paul Smiths atop the standings after its hard-fought 24-17 win over Oneonta. In Men's DIII West action, two tight matches opened the campaign. Hamilton slid past RIT, 8-5, and Oswego earned a 12-7 win over St. John Fisher.

In Collegiate Women's Division III action, shutouts by Clarkson and Hamilton put them atop the standings. Clarkson blanked Potsdam, 57-0, and Hamilton ran by Plattsburgh, 56-0. In the West, St. Bonaventure topped Cornell B, 46-5, Le Moyne handled Niagara, 22-15, and newcomer Canisius earned its first-ever win, a 44-5 decision over William Smith.
