New Scoring System / Tie-Breaker
To all NYS Rugby member clubs -
NYS Rugby has adopted a new Scoring System that will be implemented for all competition here forward. In addition, a revised Tie-Breaker system will be utilized.
These changes will be covered in further detail at the Fall League Meeting on Sunday, Sept. 10 - to be held at the Ramada Inn on Buckley Road in Syracuse. The meeting will begin at 12:00 p.m. sharp.
It is MANDATORY for each club to have at least one representative at the league meeting. Failure to do so will result in a one (1) point deduction from the league standings.
Scoring System
* 4 points for a win
* 2 points for a tie
* 0 points for a loss
* A team would get 1 bonus point for scoring 25 or more points
* A team would get 1 bonus point for losing by less than 7 points
* A team will lose a point for any score reported after 6:00pm Sunday (or Monday for Sunday games)
Regular season tiebreakers would be:
1) Number of wins
2) Result of head to head play
3) Head to head net points
4) Head to head points scored
5) Bonus points
