Seven NYS Rugby Athletes Named to NRU College All-Star Team

SYRACUSE, NY -- Seven NYS Rugby athletes have been named to the 2006 Northeast Rugby Union Men's College All Star team, as announced by Head Coach Jaco Visser on Sunday. In addition, three NYS Rugby players were named as alternates.

The team was named following a grueling three-week selection process that included the LAU competition, the NRU Cup tournament, and games against some of the finest men's clubs on the East Coast. The selected players and alternates will assemble in Rochester, NY, for five days of training before heading to Boulder, CO, to compete in USA Rugby's National All-Star Championship June 7-11.


NYS Rugby players named to the team are:
Fitzjames Adams (U. Buffalo) - Wing
Dave Dedo (U. Buffalo) - Flanker / 8 / Prop
Will Hill (U. Buffalo) - Prop
Rob Jochen (Niagara U.) - Wing, Center
Pete Mancuso (U. Buffalo) - Center, Wing
Morgan McGowan (Cornell U.) - Hooker, Prop
Scott Swamback (U. Buffalo) - Flanker, Lock


Named as alternates from NYSRC are:
Mason Baziw (RIT) - Prop
Evan Moores (RIT) - Prop, Flanker
Pangiotas Tzerefos (RIT) - Flyhalf
