NYS Rugby Championships / NRU Playoffs This Weekend - Nov 30, 2005
Collegiate Men and Women Compete

SYRACUSE, NY -- NYS Rugby has several collegiate teams in action this weekend as two women's championship games are held and six teams advance to NRU competition.

NYS Rugby Championship games will be played in Women's Division II and Division III, with St. Lawrence traveling to Fredonia for the DII title match, and Hamilton squaring off with Siena in the DIII championship. Winners of those two games will advance to their respective NRU championships, to be held next weekend, Nov. 12-13, at UMass-Amherst.

NRU action begins for Buffalo and Syracuse in Women's Division I, and Buffalo, Cornell ad Syracuse in Men's Division I. Buffalo hosts Dartmouth, while Syracuse travels to Radcliffe on the women's side; UB hosts Northeastern in men's action, while Cornell and Harvard square off in an all-Ivy tilt, and Syracuse travels north to Dartmouth.

Cortland will host Colby in one Men's Division II NRU semifinal, while Albany travels to Coast Guard in another. Plattsburgh will advance to the NRU Division III semifinals, to be held on Nov. 12 at UMass-Amherst.

Women's Division III NYS Rugby Championship (Saturday, Nov. 5)
Championship Game: East #2 Hamilton @ East #1 Siena (1:00 p.m.)

Winner advances to NRU semifinals at UMass-Amherst on Saturday, Nov. 12.
