Annual Dead Ants Tournament Recap
The 28th Annual Dead Ants Tournament was held on May 14th at Genesee Community
College. A record 31 teams participated in three divisions.
The Syracuse Chargers regained the title in the mens division for the
first time since 1992 by defeating host Genesee 17-0 in the final. McQuaid
took High School boys U19 honors by defeating a game Fairport squad 31-5.
Eastowood Collegiate from Kitchner, Ont. wraped up the Girls U19 division
with a 5-0 victory over Genesee/City Honors. The mens consolation was
won by the Pittsburgh Rugby Club, the boys U19 consolation division resulted
in co-champions Kenmore East and Kenmore West declaring a tie after three
sudden death periods.
The girls U19 consolation was won by School w/o Mercy girls.
