2004 Fall League
Meeting
All clubs must be represented
NYS Rugby Fall Checklist
Greetings and welcome
to the 2004 NYS Rugby season! We hope that you enjoyed your summer, have
been training hard, and are ready for an outstanding season.
The Conference office
would like to remind you of a few important items that are necessary to
ensure a smooth transition into the start of the campaign:
* FALL LEAGUE MEETING
New York State Rugby Conference will hold its annual fall meeting on Sunday,
September 12, 2004, at 12:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the
Quality Inn North (7th North and Buckley Road) in Syracuse. Each club
MUST have at least one representative in attendance. Those clubs in attendance
will receive +1 point in the league standings (note that the first tie-breaker
in playoff rankings is the league standings).
League rules and guidelines
will be covered at the meeting and if not alreadypaid, 2004 dues will
be issued.
Please see league
website (welcome.to/nysrugby) for details. Each club must RSVP to J.C.
Whipple, NYS Rugby Executive Director, at jcwhip4@hotmail.com
by Sept. 5.
* CIPP REGISTRATION
ALL member clubs and EVERY individual player must register for the USARFU
CIPP program. USA Rugby requires that every player in every match that
leads to a nation championship be CIPP registered. NYS Rugby will enforce
CIPP compliance for all players in all NYSRC league matches. All players
in NYSRC league and playoff matches MUST be CIPP registered with the club
for which they are competing.
To become CIPP compliant,
go to http://www.usarugby.org/membership/forms/individual.html
There will be NO EXCEPTIONS on this matter for any player or club.
* GAME FORMS
All league matches will use a match roster form which will include a space
for the CIPP number of each player along with their student ID number.
If it is a collegiate match, BOTH numbers (CIPP/Student ID) are required.
The coach or captain is required to fill out the Match Roster Form prior
to kickoff. Protests of compliance eligibility must be lodged with the
referee prior to kickoff.
The 2004 Match Roster
Form will be distributed at the league meeting and will also be available
online.
* SCORE REPORTING
Results
for League games must be reported to the Conference Coordinator by the
winning team immediately after the game, but no later than 6 P.M. on SUNDAY.
The scores are to be reported via the Conferences web site. FAILURE
TO REPORT SCORES ON TIME WILL RESULT IN A POINT DEDUCTION FROM THE LEAGUE
STANDINGS.
* REFEREE CONFIRMATION
New to NYS Rugby in 2004, referees for the coming week's match must be
confirmed (with location, time and directions) no later than the previous
SUNDAY at 9:00 p.m. NYS Rugby encourages all clubs to contact referees
assigned to home matches at the start of the season, and then reconfirm
the week of the match.
Please get working on these items, or have them in mind, as we move to
the start of the fall season. Compliance in regards to these issues will
provide better rugby for all.
For more information,
please contact J.C. Whipple, NYS Rugby Executive Director, at jcwhip4@hotmail.com.
