On Sunday, June 5, the New York State Rugby Conference (NYS Rugby) held its first annual High School All-Star game. Five of the eight clubs in the conference were represented including McQuaid, Fairport, Kenmore West, Genesee, and Buffalo City Honors.

The weather was perfect for the occasion and the rugby was outstanding. The game was an exciting high scoring affair with the Blue team defeating the Gold team, 43-29. Of all the participants, fifteen players were given the honor of being chosen for the NYS Rugby Select XV.

The NYS Rugby High School All-Star game Most Valuable Player was awarded to Tommy Fitzgerald for his excellent decision-making, ball-handling, and athletic ability at fly-half.
