Northeast Collegiate Allstars - 2002
The Northeast Collegiate Allstar team concluded its three day training and selection camp Sunday with the selection of 22 Northeast collegians from ?? different schools from all 3 LAU's. The squad flew to San Jose, California June 5 to compete in the National Allstar championships. The camp was directed by coaches Ron Astridge and Jaco Visser and managed by Pat Deloughery.
--- Selections
Invitations were emailed or otherwise relayed to nearly 90 players. Tryouts May 12 and May 19 were attended by 67 different players. 40 players were invited to the camp and 35 attended.
The selection process was made difficult and prone to oversight by the lack of LAU allstar programs in New England and Met NY. New England is especially disadvantaged because of the great numbers of schools and players which potentially go unidentified.
Army players chose to particpate with the newly created Combined Academy team rather than with the Northeast.
At the bottom of this email you will find the names of all players who were recommended, attended a tryout, were invited to camp, attended the camp, or were selected to the team.
